Mathematics is closely connected with every aspect of our life and with its help one can improve his/her reasoning power, discipline and decision taking abilities. There is an urgent need to remove the fear of mathematics from the minds of the students, said the State Project Director Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) Dipendra Kumar Chuadhary while addressing the award distribution ceremony of the State level mathematics wizard competition here on Monday. He said that the mathematics should be taught in a way which generates interest in the students.
The additional project director SSA, Mukul Kumar Sati said that to generate interest in mathematics a competition was held at school, block, district and state level. He congratulated teachers for good performance of students in the competition and appealed them to contribute in making mathematics more popular.
In the competition 38 students participated.
Incidentally the first two positions were grabbed by the students of government upper primary school Kapkot (Bageshwar). Nirmal Singh Gadia and Devendra Singh Gadia of this school were declared first and second respectively.
The programme was attended by large number of students, teachers and specialists of State Council of Education Research and Training (SCERT).
