The Utkal Sammilani on Sunday demanded that a Madhusudan Smruti Bhawan (memorial building for Utkalgaurab Madhusudan Das) be built in the capital city at the earliest.
The demand was made at the extended executive meeting of the Sammilani’s Mancheswar Industrial Branch held in Vani Vihar campus here under chairmansho of branch president Dillip Dashsharma. Sammilani’s central advisor Padma Charan Nayak, president Dr Guru Prasad Mohanty and general secretary Adwaita Patra graced as guests.
Senior members Dr Dwarikanath Mohanty and Kananbala Mohanty uncovered key rings having symbols of the Utkal Sammilani.
A resolution was passed for placing a demand before the Union Government for establishment of a statue of Utkal Gourav Madhusundar Das in the Parliament premises.
Besides, the members demanded that the State Government be extra careful for protection of the Odisha border.
Among others, vice-presidents Pratap Chandra Swain and Sheetal Chandra Mohanty, secretary Gobinda Chandra Subuddhi and joint secrtaries Bibhuti Bhushan Swain, Dr Nalini Kumar Mohanty, Akshay Kumar Jethy, Kshetra Mohan Nayak, Shiba Charan Ghosh and Siddhartha Sankar Gadanayak were present. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by joint secretary Ashok Kumar Palatasingh.
