Shahpura Police have booked two miscreants for duping a 48-year-old man to the tune of Rs 5 lakh by selling land fraudulently.

Police said that the victim Nathu Singh was duped by the two accused Pahad Singh and Neeraj of Ishwar Nagar by selling land fraudulently and when victim demanded refund of money accused refused.

In his complaint the victim stated that he was acquainted with the accused and they offered a land worth Rs 5 lakh. After the deal was done he

provided Rs 5 lakh for the land in the month of July last year but later he found that the land was not owned by the accused after which he contacted them and demanded return,

initially accused resorted to excuses and later refused to return the money. Dejected over the refusal victim lodged a complaint with the Shahpura police.

Police said that the victim has also claimed that the accused persons have cheated several others in the area in the name of providing vehicle, property and other goods which would be investigated in the further investigation.

After the accused refused to return the money he lodged a complaint with the police and based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 420 and 34 of the IPC and have started further investigation.

Police record of the two would be investigated.

The two accused are yet to be questioned in the case as the case was registered on Tuesday. The two are still missing and would be searched.
