Kamla Nagar police have booked two miscreants who escaped with valuables worth Rs 70,000 from an astrologer’s house in Nehru Nagar on Sunday.
Police said that the victim Rameshwar Choubey’s valuables were stolen by two miscreants in the month of February this year but he was not aware of the theft and around a week ago when he found that the valuables were missing a complaint was lodged with the police.
The victim works as an astrologer and in the month of February two youths came to meet him and asked regarding Kundali for marriage but at the time of the visit the youths failed to bring birth certificate.
After few days they returned with the required documents and this time the victim asked them to wait in another room and while he went for some work in the next room the two took valuables worth Rs 70000.
later, when the victim checked he found that Rs 60000 cash and a gold ring worth Rs 10000 was found missing and lodged a complaint with the Kamla Nagar police.
Based on his complaint after the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 380 of the IPC and started search for the miscreants.
The victim was not acquainted with the accused as several unknown people come for astrological advice and which made him an easy target.
Police said that the delay by the victim could help the miscreants.
The miscreants have not been identified and investigation has been started.
