Stay away from dirty politics: CM to youth

Tuesday, 31 January 2017 | PRAGYAPAllAVI | Ranchi

Chief Minister Raghubar Das has called upon students to keep their hands off the dirty politics.

Addressing a function held at Audrey House to felicitate the newly elected members of Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) in the university elections in the State, Das pointed out that dirty tricks of political parties are often responsible for misguiding the young mind.

Blaming his predecessors for doing politics over domicile policy, Das said, “The domicile policy of Jharkhand was held back for 15 long years badly hitting the development of this State. Political parties often target youths misguiding them on different agendas. Youths must stay away from these dirty tricks and focus on the advancement of the State.”

Sharing his own experience with the ABVP office bearers and students, the CM asked the young brigade to uphold the rich legacy of ABVP. “I began my career as a student leader. All the elected representatives must realize that they have a great level of responsibility on their shoulders. Moreover, it is not only the responsibility of university officials to bring the change, but also the student leaders should devote themselves bringing positive transformation in students lives,” added Das.

The CM, on the occasion, also claimed that the State Government is putting all its effort to boost the higher and technical education sector in every possible way adopting innovative methodologies. Taking cue from the Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) at the national level that is 22 per cent at present, Das said, “The State GER is just eight per cent; we need to work piously to improve this. Jharkhand government targets to achieve 22 per cent GER ratio by 2022. The State government has planned to spend Rs. 700 crore on skill development scheme.”

The CM also assured that children belonging to Schedule castes and Scheduled tribes will get more privilege to uplift their lives. Das asserted that ABVP members have put a brake on the activities of several anti- national elements across the nation and asked the office bearers to stay away from the cheap publicity.

ABVP leader Sunil Aambekar emphasized on students welfare while taking the State towards new dawn whereas Ranchi University (RU) VC, Dr. RK Pandey urged the student leaders to support the university in its major endeavors that will eventually help the university in fetching better ranking at the national forum .
