State planning body presents three-yr road map to CM

The State Development Council (SDC) has submitted a working plan for the next three years to the Government chalking out its priorities and line of action. The apex planning body of the State has divided the entire development plan into 12 different sectors with specific ideas.

 Talking to media persons after the meeting of SDC with the Chief Minister on Wednesday, its member T Nand Kumar said that the project reports of all the important sectors in the economy of the State has been prepared.

 "We have prepared a work plan for the next three years and its draft has been submitted to the CM. The plan would be given a final touch by the next month based on inputs coming from different departments. largely 12 sectors have been identified to work upon," said Nand Kumar.

 The report handed over to CM Raghubar Das is in three parts, he said, adding that within 15 days' time all the departments would come up with their ideas which are to be incorporated into the final roadmap for the State.

 The initiative, first of its kind by about a year old SDC related to road map, was well taken in the meeting where besides the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma, Development Commissioner Amit Khare and all top officials of the Departments were present. Inputs of the report would also be taken up for the Budget preparation exercise underway at the moment for 2018-19.

 Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister hailed the growth trajectory of the State. "lots of good works have taken place in the last three years in Jharkhand which helped it becoming among the top 10 states on several counts. But, at the same time, we also have to ensure proper delivery of the schemes for the wellbeing of the people," he said.

 The CM directed the officers to prioritise development of six districts faring low in the national level index figuring 100 districts.                              

"Identify the panchayats and blocks and prepare a list of lacunas over there. A roadmap should be prepared based on that so that the backward areas can be pulled up. We need commitments down the line," said the CM.

 He also appealed all present there to contribute to build a 'new Jharkhand' also told the officials to visit villages every week. Apart from heads of all the Departments, noted economist Prof Ramesh Sharan also attended the meeting.
