last time the NSUI was able to capture this college was in the year 2006-07 when its candidate Sangram Singh Pundeer defeated Jitendra Rawat of ABVP to became president.
However, ever since Jitendra Rawat defeated Manvendra Pratap Singh Bisht of the NSUI next year to win the seat for ABVP it is a long and agonising wait for the NSUI. This year also rebel NSUI candidate Saurabh Mamgain can prove costly for the organisation.
This year Shubham Simalti is the candidate of the ABVP while the NSUI has fielded Vikas Negi. Sensing its chances in the DAV PG College, the State unit of Congress party has also thrown its weight behind the NSUI in its endeavour to capture the most prestigious of among the colleges of the State.
