Installation of solar street lights approved during the tenure of former Cabinet Minister Harish Chandra Durgapal continuing, seven solar street lights were installed in settlements bereft of power supply on Sunday. These lights were set up in Baudkhatta, Daulikhatta and Chidkhatta which are located in the forest area and without power supply.
It is pertinent to mention here that these settlements which are located amidst the jungles, do not have regular power supply due to which the residents have to face various problems. After sunset, the residents are hardly able to venture out of their homes due to the darkness. On Sunday, the installation of solar street lights in these settlements spread much cheer among the local residents. local Youth Congress leader Raja Dhami stated that a total of seven solar street lights had been installed in various settlements on Sunday. Further, on Monday such street lights will also be installed at Nayagaon Katan, Gaulapar, Chorgaliya and other areas. Along with the Youth Congress leader, the Gram Pradhan Balkar Singh and the local residents were also among those present on the occasion.
