Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat inaugurated the Annual Function Program of the Civil Defence Corps, Dehradun, by lightning a lamp, held in the Nagar Nigam Auditorium on Saturday. Congratulating the volunteers associated with the organisation, CM Rawat said society needs people like the volunteers of Civil Defence. In his address he said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is giving special emphasis on three things — Clean India, energy saving and expansion of less cash system. We all can play a significant role in this.
Describing the role of the volunteers in the field of civil protection as important, he said that in view of the State’s circumstances, a special training required for disaster management in the State. There are many types of disasters, so different types of training should be given to the people. Students should be trained in all Government and private schools for disaster management. Private schools will have to increase their involvement in this regard. Along with a syllabus should be prepared for schools, so that, students could be trained in a time bound manner.
As State Government wants to revive the Rispana and Bindal River. The Government is committed for this. He said that an enzyme has been sprayed in the Rispana and Susva River to eliminate the odor from these rivers. He added that the cooperation of people is required in making India clean and odorless.
