Regional Museum of Natural History Bhopal inaugurated a temporary exhibition on ‘Seed of India’ on the occasion of 20th Anniversary of Museum on Friday. Sameeta Rajora, IFS, Director, Van Vihar National Park, Bhopal was the Chief Guest and Syed Jalaluddin Rizvi, Olympian, Arjun Awardee and Chief Manager of State Bank of India, Bhopal was the Guest of Honour of the programme.
A Collage Competition was also organised by RMNH, Bhopal on Friday. Sixty nine students of Class 6 to 9 from various schools of Bhopal participated in the competition. The theme of the competition was ‘Barahsingha in the Forest’.
Chief Guest, Sameeta Rajora and Guest of Honour, Syed Jalaluddin Rizvi, inaugurated the temporary exhibition.
During the inauguration, Manoj Kumar Sharma, Scientist-B & In-charge of Museum, Beenish Rafat, Scientist-B, Manik lal Gupta, Scientist-B & Coordinator of the Temporary Exhibition, teachers, participants of Collage Competition, Winners of competitions held from September 20to 23, parents, staff members and general public were present.
In-Charge and Scientist-B of the museum Manoj Kumar Sharma welcomed the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, Sudesh Waghmare, Former DCF UR Singh, Former Director, EPCO, Bhopal, PK Shrivastava, Seniour Scientist, MPPCB, Mohd Khalique and Sangeeta Rajgeer from Bhopal Birds, teachers, participants of Collage Competition, Winners of various competitions, parents, Media personals, general public and staff members of museum.
Messages from A Senthil Vel, Scientist-G, Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, New Delhi and Naaz Rizvi, Director, National Museum of Natural History, New Delhi were conveyed by Manoj Kumar Sharma.
During the lecture on ‘Introduction of Seeds’, Gulbir Singh Panwar, AGM from National Seeds Corporation of India, Bhopal detailed about the various seeds and their importance found in India.
Guest of Honour Syed Jalaluddin Rizvi told, “We should make more awareness towards conservation of environment and cleanness especially among the youth.”
Chief Guest Sameeta Rajora appreciated the museum to arrange the temporary exhibition. She also said that we all are inter-connected and dependent on environment. She stressed on the the importance of environment and wildlife conservation.
