South Eastern Coalfield limited (SECl) on Sunday distributed motorised tricycles to the handicapped under the CSR scheme in Bilaspur.
The chief guests of the function organised on this occasion was Coal Secretary of the union government, Sushil Kumar, Poonam Kumar, BR Reddy and B Shailja Reddy.
Divisional Commissioner TC Mahawar and District Collector P Dayanand was the special guests. Speaking on this occasion, the Chief Guest, Sushil Kumar appreciated the SECl for their social concern and decision of distributing the tricycles to the handicap.
“SECl is not only a leading coal exploiter but is also ahead in showing responsibility to the society.” he said. It is our moral responsibility to return back what we receive from the society. I am glad to say that SECl is also ahead is fulfilling its social responsibility, he added.
He further informed that the SECl had selected the orthopedic handicap, which were having ailment of more that 80 percent. Selection was done at various places of the Bilaspur division. A total of 486 handicaps were selected in the camps and tricycles to 100 out of them were distributed today. Apart from tricycles, the beneficiaries were also distributed digital unique cards by which they can avail free medical checkups and treatment all over the country.
SECl had planned to distribute 1000 tricycles in the near future, the officer added.
Speaking on this occasion the Chairman cum Managing Director, SECl, BR Reddy expressed his thanks toward the district administration, social welfare department for their cooperation. Director, Finance, AP Panda, Director, Commercial, RS Jha, Director, Technical, Kuldeep Prasad and PK Sinha, Chief Vigilance Officer, AP labhane, and office bearers of Shradhha Mahila Mandal, Pushpita Panda, Suman Jha, Veena Prasad, Sangeeta Sinha were also present.
