Renowned educationist and eminent Sanskrit scholar Prof Harekrishna Satapathy has been appointed as the first Vice-Chancellor of the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) University. He will join on September 1. Dr Satapathy, who began his teaching career at the Ravenshaw College, retired as Vice-Chancellor of the Rashtriya Sanskrit University, Tirupati.Besides, former IAS officer Julius lakra has been appointed as the first Registrar of the KISS University. After completing his post-graduation in Sociology and Anthropology, he had joined the Odisha Administrative Service. He has long experience of implementation of tribal development projects, poverty alleviation, social security, women and child development programmes in various tribal districts.
Expressing pleasure over the new appointments, KIIT & KISS founder Dr Achyuta Samanta said vast experience of Dr Satapathy in teaching and educational administration and lakra’s long experience in tribal development would take the university to new heights in the fields of teaching and research.
