Wednesday evening was filled with the delightful performance by Manjari Kale. It was the fifth day of Sadaneera, a festival dedicated to rivers of India. The event is being organised at Bharat Bhavan.
Here on Wednesday various events were held under the grand festival. The events were held in morning, afternoon and evening sessions.
The series of events began with the screening of documentaries based on the rivers of India. Under the documentaries, the culture of rivers was shown and the Bhopalites were informed about how the rivers with different names came in to being.
There was a description of rivers like Ganga, Narmada and many others. A history related to all the sacred rivers were screened through the documentaries at Bharat Bhavan.
After the documentary, a lecture was held on the topic ‘Rivers of Cultures and Cultures of Rivers’.
The lecture was conducted by renowned author Radhavallabh Tripathi and Kapil Tiwari. They talked about the rivers of cultures and cultures of rivers.
In their lectures they explained about various myths and rituals in different parts of the country that are connected with the rivers.
The lecture was attended by few literature lovers of the city yet it was an informative session for all.
To wind up the series of events on Wednesday, a melodious performance was given by Manjari Kale. She performd folk songs based on the rivers like Godavari, Kaveri, Krishna, Narmada, Ganga and more.
The audience enjoyed the show with full ecstasy when Manjari and her singing created a connection between the folk music and the listeners.
Not only the folk music lovers, but others also listened to her performance with rapt attention. The evening turned out to be a mesmerizing event for the audience as she played the folk compositions.
