Rs 15-crore assets of Sura Baba attached

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) after turning the heat on Sarathi Baba and gangster siblings Dhalasamanta brothers for amassing illegal assets attached the properties of tainted godman Sura Baba alias Surendra Mishra on Thursday.

The agency attached properties worth Rs 15 crore of Sura Baba. The Central agency attached the godman’s  Trahi Achyuta Ashram at Jhinti of Balianta block in Khordha district worth Rs 12. 40 crore, his house and other landed property. Bank deposits of Rs 2.35 crore in various accounts were also freezed. The assets were registered in the name of Surendra and his two sons, said the sources. Presently, the self styled godman and his sons are behind bars.

Similarly, the ED on Wednesday had attached the property of dreaded gangster siblings Sushil and Susant Dhalasamanta worth Rs 8.23 crore including their house in CDA worth Rs 1,25 crore, from where the duo used to operate their evil empire. The agency also seized RS 3.9 crore bank deposits, and Rs 3.72 crore cash seized from their rented house in Pokhariput under the Airfield police station, from where they were nabbed by the Commissionerate police.
