The Ranchi district administration has begun its exercise to implement major schemes launched on State Foundation Day this year.
Primarily focusing on strengthening 108 ambulance service scheme, Ranchi DC Manoj Kumar, during a press meet, here on Wednesday said, “To meet the urgent requirements, especially in the cases of child’s delivery and road accidents, a total of 29 ambulances have been sanctioned for Ranchi district. By far, the district has received nine ambulances. In the phase wise manner, the ambulances equipped with all essential preliminary medical facilities are being given to the districts. By February 2018, all 29 ambulances will start operating.”
Similarly, the ambitious ‘Johar Yojana’ launched with an aim to decrease poverty and improve the standard of living of Below Poverty line (BPl) people, five blocks in Ranchi have been selected under the programme. “In this financial year (FY) 2017-18, Angara, Bero and Chanho will be covered under the scheme while in the next financial year Kanke and Mandar will be covered. The project is being supported by World Bank and will cover up 2000 households,” added Kumar.
“The project is divided into two components, primary and secondary. Angara block has been selected for fisheries and high value agriculture products while Bero and Chanho blocks have been selected only for fisheries production in the primary module. In the secondary component, timber production (lAC) and tamarind production will be focused.
According to the village capacity, resource persons will be selected. Formation of producer groups will be ensured by December end at the selected villages under ‘Johar Scheme’,” he further said.
In a bid to streamline all major schemes covering maximum beneficiaries, block-coordinator recruitment process has been complete. In the meantime, the DC said that all essential arrangements have been made for paddy procurement.
