Rai raises conversion issue in Parliament

Friday, 31 March 2017 | PNS | Ranchi

Koderma MP Ravindra Rai on Thursday raised the issue of the double advantage taken by some people after getting converted to other religions in the Parliament. Rai in his speech said that the people of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes who get converted to other religion are also taking advantage of reservation policy which is not fair as they were taking away the rights of ST and ST population in the Country.

The Koderma Parliamentarian also demanded that such practices should be banned by bringing a bill in the Parliament so that the interests of the ST and SC population could be protected. Rai also expressed concern over some of the organizations which are making poor and downtrodden people change their religion by misguiding them and requested the Government to keep a vigil on the activities of such organizations.
