The Paradip Port Trust (PPT) organised a street play Polythene Rakshyasa on Sunday in association with the Canmass, the leading cultural organisation of the locality, at the Paradip Bus-Stand and Sandhakuda slum area to make the localities aware about the dangers posed by rampant polythene use under the Swachh Bharat Mission.
The programme was inaugurated by PPT Deputy Chairman N Vaiyapuri in the presence of FA & CAO SK Sahu and Harbour Master Capt AK Mohapatra, Paradip Municipality Chairman Basant Kumar Biswal and Paradip Bus Owners’ Association president Chaudhury Pravas Swain.
The PPT has already drawn up a plan to conduct street plays in various slum areas on a monthly basis to create awareness among the denizens of the port township to keep the locality clean and ensure a hygienic living.
