Taking forward its agenda for the Swachhata Pakhwada on the 15th day of the campaign on Thursday, the Paradip Port Trust (PPT) took steps for the public awareness building exercise by undertaking cleaning operation near the Jubilee Market and Vijaya Market Complexes, Badapadia, here. At 8:30 am, under the supervision of the PPT’s Mobile Swachhata Squad, the cleaning drive was taken up in association with staffs of the Paradip Muncipality and PPT employees. Garbage of plastics, dry leaves heaps, discarded oil refills, waste cartons, etc., creating unhygienic atmosphere, were removed and disposed of. Similarly, at the Ghanagalia Pump House, officers and workmen of the PH Division (Mech.) of the Engineering Department cleaned the wild bushes to keep the area neat and clean. A PPT committee visited local schools, markets and quarters of employees and assessed the efforts of individuals and institutions in maintaining utmost cleanliness.
