Thursday, 30 November 2017 | PNS | Haridwar

Police are now on the lookout for a person who allegedly raped a minor girl in an area under Ranipur police station. It is learnt that the accused identified as Dilip Kumar, a neighbour of the survivor who is around 16 years old, lured her to a desolate place and raped her on Wednesday morning.

A relative of the survivor spotted the crime and reported the same to the police.  The girl was rescued though the accused managed to escape.  Subsequently a case was registered against the accused and a police team was formed to nab him.

“A relative from the girl’s family spotted the person committing the crime. The parents of the survivor  lodged a complaint following which we sent the girl for medical examination.  A search is now on for the accused who is absconding.

A case has been registered against Dilip and he would be arrested soon,” said Ranipur police station in-charge Aishwarya Pal.
