Since the festival of Rakshabandhan is approaching near, the festivity has started gripping the State capital. The preparations for Rakshabandhan are in its full swing in the city.
The festival would be celebrated on August 7 and the markets are packed with different varieties of Rakhis, tempting chocolates and enormous ranges of sweets. Besides, there is a huge variety of enchanting gifts available in the market.
The festivals bring joy and a lot of contentment along with traditions and customs associated with them. The festival is dedicated to the love and affection between brother and sister.
The markets are displaying different varieties of Rakhis for the tiny tots as well. Rakhis featuring Superman, Krrish, Bal Hanuman, Chhota Bheem and even Doreamon are major attractions for kids this season.
“While choosing rakhi customers usually go with the colour and design of their preference and girls having a younger brother want to buy a rakhi of their favourite character,” says Gautam, a shopkeeper in old market. The rates of such rakhis start from `50 to 200.
Battery-operated glowing Rakhi, Rakhis featuring teddy-bear, car, mobile and mouse rakhis are a major pick-up among children. Some of the rakhis have been made of resham and zari threads and are decorated with different items like pearls, beads, stones, gems or imitation jewellery material.
“These rakhis are a bit expensive and starts from Rs 100 and goes upto Rs 500. But people with an ethnic choise choose such rakhis as they even look beautiful,” shares another shopkeeper Ajay.
The Bhopalites are preparing to celebrate the sibling feel with a lot of fervour.
