The University Teachers' Association (UTA) of the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) organised its 42nd annual general body meeting here on Saturday.
OUAT Vice-Chancellor Surendranath Pasupalak presiding over the meeting welcomed the guests and presented five demands for consideration of the Government.
Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water and Agriculture And Farmers' Empowerment, Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Minister Pradeep Maharathy, who was present as chief guest, assured to fulfil their demands within two months.
Agriculture Principal Secretary Dr Saurav Garg also spoke on the occasion.
The demands include early implementation of the Career Advancement Scheme, enhancement teachers’ superannuation age to 65 years in the light of UGC recommendation to harness the experience and expertise of senior teachers for agriculture development in general and the farming community in particular.
They also demanded that Government streamline the service condition of the scientists recruited in KVKs with effect from 2005, extend the NPS facility to KVK scientists, implement UGC 7th Pay Commission recommendation for OUAT teachers/ scientists at the earliest and to provide for their representation in the Board of Management of OUAT.
Among others, association president Bibudha Parasara, general secretary Dr Gokul Bihari Dash, Deans, Director, Registrar, Comptroller and Other Officers of OUAT were present.
