He lauded the organisers for their efforts to create awareness among people to donate bodies and organs especially since the event coincided with the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
The organisers are holding the mega organ donation drive simultaneously at multiple locations in Odisha involving registration of a large number of people which is an attempt to have an entry in the Guinness Book of World Records.
More than 1,000 students from different institutions were present on the occasion. It may be mentioned that so far, pledges have been made for 700 whole body donations, 1,000 organ donations and 700 eye donations under this platform.
Among others, Utkal University Vice-Chancellor Prof Ashok Kumar Das, The Samaja editor Bamapada Tripathy, BODI president Dr Pravas Acharya and Utkal University Students’ Union president Mahesh Prasad were present.
