The cyber crime sleuths have nabbed a 34-year-old computer networking and hardware expert who created fake email account of gmail in the name of five professors of National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR) and raised allegations of corruption against the director of the institute on Tuesday.
The police nabbed a man from Awadhpuri area who was found to be involved in creating fake email account of gmail of five professors of National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR) and was identified as Ravi Prakash (34) of Awadhpuri.
A complaint was lodged by the victim Professor Piyush Verma regarding emails defaming their director by raising allegations of corruption charges but it was found that none of the five professors have written these emails.
Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police started investigation and nabbed the accused from Awadhpuri.
During the investigation the accused confessed that he was depressed over not getting job with National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR) and annoyed over the current director and professors he created fake email id to defame the director and used the names of the professor.
The emails were sent to the former director claiming that the present director is corrupt. Police said that the accused do not hold crime record and other details would be searched in the investigation.
The police have registered a case under section section 66 A of the IT Act. The selection of name of five professors would be investigated said the police.
