In an inhuman incident in Surat in Gujarat, a pregnant Odia woman was stabbed by her brother-in-law on a busy street, but the onlookers did not respond to her husband’s cries for help to call an ambulance.
She succumbed to the injuries at the spot. Sources said the victim was identified as Anita and her husband as Dharmesh, a local resident.
Police suspected property feud to be the reason behind the attack.
“A case has been registered by Pandesara police of Surat city. Investigations revealed that the woman was murdered by her brother-in-law over some property dispute.
The accused is absconding and investigation is on,” said Surat DCP MS Bhavor, sources said.
