In a broad daylight murder, a 45-year-old contractor, Pradeep Agrawal, was killed by some unidentified man at his in Radhakrushna colony in Nabarangpur on Tuesday.
According to sources, Agarwal was in his house when three unknown persons entered there and started talking to him. later, the trio ordered for tea while chatting with him. As the maidservant was away to prepare tea, they attacked him with sharp weapons and fled the spot.
Agarwal, with his left hand severed and deep cuts on his shoulder, was immediately rushed to the Nabarangpur Headquarters Hospital where the doctors declared him dead, said Nabarangpur town police station IIC Pravas Sankar Nayak. His aunt and three daughters were present at home during the attack, police said. Meanwhile, the town police detained three suspected persons in the case.
“The investigation is on. The criminals will be identified and arrested soon,” said SP Mukesh Kumar Bhamoo.
