The Bhopalites witnessed an evening with the melodious old songs in a musical concert ‘Ek Shaam Sadabahar Geeto Ke Naam’ held at Ravindra Bhavan Auditorium here on Thursday.
The concert was organised by Adaakar theatre troupe marking the second day of Jashn-e-Mamu. Interestingly, the young singers of Bhopal participated in the Jashn-e-Mamu concert. The singers and musicians of Abhilasha Music Academy, Bhopal gave a fabulous performance on stage.
The singers presented more than 25 old songs before the music lovers of the city.
Being the wondrous presentation for the old music lovers, the show evoked a good response. The event began with the prayer song ‘Aye Malik Tere Bande’ and was followed with Bollywood melodies.
With the presentation of the melodious songs like ‘Meri Maa’ from Taare Zameen Par, Tauba Ye Matwali Chal from movie Pathar Ke Sanam, ‘Aji Chale Aao’ from movie Halaku, Chale Jana Nahi Tu Kahin from movie Badi Behen, Gulabi Aankhe Jo Teri Dekhi, Yaad Na Jaye the listeners enjoyed the musical night with a lot of enthusiasm.
Notably, the singers were accompanied on the Hindustani musical instruments that added more zest to their performance.
While talking to The Pioneer, playwright Rafi Shabbir said, “We organised Jashn-e-Mamu as a tribute to Hamidullah Khan’s Contribution in cricket and theatre. Also we organised this entire three-day event observing his 60th birthday.”
The audiences were enthralled to watch the show. They enjoyed the programme whole heartedly and relived the golden era of Bollywood.
