The players of Madhya Pradesh Water Sports Academy will represent team India in Asian Rowing Championship. The championship will be played at Thailand from September 4 to 8.
It is to be noted that six players of Madhya Pradesh Water Sports Academy will represent team India at the championship. The entire team India includes 22 players which further includes 13 female players and nine male players.
Interestingly out of 13 female players two are from the State academy and out of nine male players four players have been selected from the State academy. Besides, a former player of Madhya Pradesh academy and two female players are also in the team.
Notably under male category, players Mangal Singh and Bhanu Pratap will play at the quader pull skull event and former player Kuldeep Sainghav will play at Coxless four event. Besides, under female category players Sona Keer and Rukmani will play at coxless four event and players KM Geeta and Karuna Devi will also showcase their talent at the championship.
On the selection of the State players on international platform Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare Department Yashodhara Raje Scindia expressed her deep contentment. She congratulated the players for the achievement and wished them luck for their future. She also encouraged them to play well and not get distracted from their focus. Scindia also told the players to give their best at the championships and return with medals.
Director of Sports and Youth Welfare Department Upendra Jain also congratulated the players and asked them to play well at the championship.
Notably, the players are being trained by Coach Dalbeer Singh Rathore at Madhya Pradesh Water Sports Academy. Moreover, the players are being trained at the training camp organised at Hyderabad.
