The players from Madhya Pradesh are showcasing outstanding performance at the 35th National Rowing Championship, being held at Water Sports Centre, Upper lake. On Monday, the semi finals of the championship were played.
Exhibiting excellent performance in 10 events under 2000 metre race, seven teams from Madhya Pradesh have qualified for the grand finale. The semi finals were played in men and female categories.
Players Rukmani and Sona Keer have secured their place in finals under coxless fair event under female category.
In the same category, players from Madhya Pradesh Ramanjeet Kaur, Karuna Devi, KM Geeta and Amandeep Kaur gave spontaneous performance in coxless-4 event securing place in grand finale.
Similarly, under male category the players from Madhya Pradesh have performed exceptionally. Kuldeep Sandhev and Prince have qualified for finale in coxless fair event. Besides, the players from State have given a wonderful performance in different events.
Vishakhat Chandra and Surendra Parmar played the double scull. Giving their best, they have secured their place in finale in male category (under 21). In coxless-4 event players including Ankit, Rohit, Aman, and Manas Sharma have also qualified for finals.
In men’s lightweight double scull 2000 metre race was played, in which the two Balram Soni and Mangal Singh from Madhya Pradesh has also qualified for the finals.
Notably, the finals for the 35th National Rowing Championship will be played on Tuesday. The winners will be felicitated at ‘medal ceremony’ after the finals. While on Wednesday 500 metre race will be played.
