To attract foreign investments in a second edition of ‘Make in Odisha’, the State Government is planning to hold more road shows in foreign countries, including Japan, Germany, Britain and China.
Besides, road shows would be conducted in various locations in India, said a senior official. The initiative is aimed at drawing attention of foreign and Indian investors to make investments in various sectors including tourism and industry.
A road show is planned in Mumbai from November 30 to December 1, where a team led by Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi would hold talks with investors.
Besides, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is scheduled to hold a ‘21st Enterprise Odisha’ in Bhubaneswar from December 7 to 11.
Earlier this year, road shows were conducted in Japan and Thailand to showcase the manufacturing facilities and investment opportunities in Odisha in focus sectors.
last year in first edition of Make in Odisha, companies had expressed their interest for investing around Rs 2,03,000 crore in 10 major sectors.
The State Government in collaboration with the Centre’s Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP) had organised the Make in Odisha Conclave in Bhubaneswar from November 30 to December 2, 2016.
Although several MoUs were signed during the event, the proposed projects are yet to come up.
