The members of the State Assembly are showing an unprecedented enthusiasm for the forthcoming Winter Session of the State Assembly at Bharadisain in Gairsain.
The Vidhan Sabha Secretariat has received more than 1000 questions from the Members of legislative Assembly (MlA). The legislative section of the Vidhan Sabha secretariat is working overtime to compile the questions of the members. More than 150 petitions on various subjects have also reached the secretariat.
The third session of the fourth assembly would be held at Bharadisain from November 7. A bill on Aadhar is also slated to be put in the Vidhan Sabha. All eyes however would be on the status of the lokayukt act and the Transfers act during the assembly session. The government is also planning to introduce Uttarakhand shop and establishments (employment and service rules) act- 2017 and Uttarakhand Municipal Corporation amendment notification, 2017 during the session. Similarly the reports of 2011-12, 2012-13, 2013-14 of Uttarakhand forest Development Corporation and account details and annual reports of the Uttarakhand Power Regulatory commission (2014-15 and 2015-16) would be brought up in the assembly.
The Vidhan Sabha Secretary, Jagdish Chandra informed that on Day one the ordinances would be tabled in the assembly. He said that all preparations for the session have been done. The Vidhan Sabha session is slated to be end on December 13.
Meanwhile the assembly secretariat is busy in the arduous task of allotting accommodation to the officers and other government employees during the session. It should be noted that accommodation is a major issue at Bharadisain located at an elevation of more than 8000 feet above Mean Sea level (MSl).
There is an MlA hostel in the Bharadisain, but in the view of limited accommodation the administration is planning to accommodate two MlAs in one flat. Arrangements are being made for officers, staff and media in Gairsain, Karnprayag, Adibadri, Gauchar and Kaleshwar. The district administration of Chamoli district has been asked the keep snow ploughs and necessary machines ready in the eventuality of a snowfall.
Interestingly, the Assembly Speaker Premchand Agarwal has asked all secretaries to bring along only three officials in the Winter Session at Gairsain.
