The Commissonerate police on Thursday claimed to have arrested another accused involved in the ITER fake placement scam.

The arrestee was identified as Vikash lunayach, an MBA graduate and resident of Gurugram in Haryana. He was nabbed by the police on June 27 and was brought here on transit remand.

Police Commissioner YB Khurania said Vikash acted as a coordinator between the ITER and fake placement agencies. Khurania said several top companies on whose name placement drives were held, declined to have organised such campus recruitments.

The Commissioner further revealed that the fake placements were conducted in a highly organised and well-planned manner while the role of several other persons is also under scanner.

The police informed that Vikash was present during similar fake campus drives held in Bhubaneswar on five occasions.

Earlier, ITER Additional Placement Dean Raj Kumar Hota and a fake consultant Manas Nayak were arrested in connection with the fake placement racket.
