Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Maihar would be developed as the best and the most beautiful shrine in the country. A Rs 270 crore action-plan of a mini smart city in Maihar is being started by including infrastructure development, beautification, public services and development of spots of tourist, religious and archaeological significance. He was addressing a massive public meeting organized for the inauguration of mini smart city action plan.
Chouhan said on the occasion that 79 out of 103 announcements made last year in the month of June for the development of Maihar have been completed and the remaining announcements will also be completed soon. He said that irrigation schemes for farmers of Maihar have also been approved. The schemes will be launched around Diwali. The road from Jhukehi to Sarlanagar will also be approved soon. The Chief Minister said that the farmers would be given beneficial price for the harvest. Even if the price of the crop is less, the difference amount between sale rate and support price will be deposited in the farmers’ account. He said that a Krishi Mulya lagat Ayog will be constituted soon.
Chouhan said that efforts would be made to build houses for 15 lakh poor persons in rural and urban areas of the state this year. The Chief Minister unveiled the action plan guide of Divya Maihar – mini smart city scheme on the occasion. A six-minute film related to Divya Maihar was also presented on the occasion. MP Ganesh Singh publicly felicitated the Chief Minister for making Satna a smart city and Maihar – the country’s first mini smart city.The Chief Minister inaugurated the programme with kanya pujan and by lighting the lamp. Maihar student, Jaya Dwivedi’s performance of “O ri Chirayya….. a song related to Beti Bachao Abhiyan attracted the attention of the Chief Minister. Chouhan called Ms Dwivedi on stage and honoured her and announced to give her samman nidhi of Rs one lakh. MlA Narayan Tripathi presented Chief Minister Chouhan with a certificate of inclusion of Aao Jane MP Quiz Competition event in the Guinness Book of World Records.
On the occasion, Chouhan laid the foundation and dedicated works worth Rs 32.15 crore of Maihar. He dedicated the 33/11 kv power sub-station of Jeetnagar Ajmain Jariyari Bharouli, middle school building of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, rural road Harduasani Marg and construction of Maihar Dhanwahi Marg to Dharampura Marg. Among other works, the foundation of Jariyari Kartaha Ajmain Dharampura and Bhadanpur nal-jal praday yojana under Public Health and Engineering Department was laid, Girls Hostel under Nagar Palika was dedicated and bhumi poojan of the Pala High School building, latagaon Judwani Moudaha Marg and Rs 13 crore Ghunwara Basouda Pahad Marg was performed. The Chief Minister distributed free gas connections to four beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, letters of approval in economic welfare scheme and Mukhya Mantri Swarozgar Yojana to 7 beneficiaries and benefits to beneficiaries under Mukhya Mantri Awas Mission.
