It is rightly said “love is blind”, and lovers can even take the extreme step to prove their love. Such a tragic incident has come to the fore at village Angarabandha under the Angul police station.
Sources said two lovers identified as Bikash Pradhan and Pratima Pradhan, both in their thirties are natives of the same village. Both had a love affair for long. As both wanted to marry, their parents had agreed to their marriage.
Though their marriage proposal was approved by their respective families and they belong to the same caste, surprisingly they ended their valuable lives by consuming poison.
However, their parents getting the information rushed to village Cheliapada and found the lovers lying unconscious and in a critical condition in a playground. They were admitted to the Angul hospital, sources said.
While the condition of Pratima was stated to be stable, that of Bikash was critical. Bikash was referred to the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack. The police are investigating the cause of the mysterious incident.
