loP accuses BJP leader of threatening businessman

Sunday, 30 April 2017 | PNS | DEHRADUN

leader of Opposition in the State Assembly Indira Hridayesh accused police of taking no action against a BJP leader who was threatening a rice miller over phone on Saturday.

Hridayesh also said that her party would have no objection to the State Goods and Service Tax (SGST), which has to be passed in a specially called Assembly Session, if it was in the interest of the State. However, she threatened that if it was not in the State’s interest they would take up various agitations.

She also said that with the Government increased price of wheat and rice for above poverty line (APl) card holders and even stopping distributing of sugar through PDS shops so her party would raise this issue outside and as well as inside the House.

She also asked the State Government to clear their stand on liquor issue as several people have made their investment into this business but they were in a dilemma.

Speaking on SGST, she said there were 1,100 issues and she would take a call once she has studied the Bill thoroughly. The Bill will be tabled in the House on May 1. She said if the Bill doesn’t addresses people’s issue she would raise objection.

Meanwhile, the leader of Opposition also alleged that a BJP leader was openly threatening a businessman if he couldn’t pay money. Also she claimed that she had the audio-recording of the conversation between the saffron leader and the victim. Hridayesh also charged Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat of taking no action against the corruption charge on NH-74. Does it mean that CM Rawat was making hue and cry just to get political mileage out of it. As CM himself claimed that in prima facie evident there is corruption of Rs 250 crore but actual scam is worth of Rs 500 crore, she questioned.

She further said in Uttarakhand there is double engine Government but State has increased price of wheat and rice for the APl card holders. Her party would rake up this issue in public and Vidhan Sabha as well. Even sugar is not being provided at PDS shop.
