The Hindi play ‘Haman Ka Sapna’ conceptualised and written by Mahesh Dattan was staged by Rangashri little Ballet Troupe on Monday. Haman Ka Sapna is inspired by two plays of Shakespeare, ‘A Mid Summer Night’s Dream’ and ‘Romeo and Juliet’.

The performance was a part of class presentation by the students of Madhya Pradesh School of Drama of batch 2016-17.

The story revolves around the concept of love and its difficulties. Showcasing different stages of love, the play highlights about the challenges in relationships. The play begins with the wedding preparations. Thakur of Sunder gaoun is getting married. But, during the preparations a farmer Ajgar Singh comes with a problem to Thakur.

He tells Takur that his daughter Hansa wants to marry a man called lasban who does not belong to their caste. And Ajgar wants Hansa to get married to Dhamtar Singh the boy he has chosen for her.

At this Thakur give Hansa two choices, either she married to Dhamtar or she will be boycotted by the entire village. Meanwhile Hansa discovers that her best friend Hori is in love with Dhamtar singh and so Hansa plans to flee with lasban.

On the other hand a drama troupe prepares a nukkad natak for Thakur's wedding called 'Pinki aur pyarelal ki prem kahani'.

Simultaneously another story is added in the play. A couple is fighting over the custody of their child in one of the elite restaurants called Moon and Shine.
