Odisha’s leading farmers’ organisation Navanirman Krushak Sangathan (NNKS), which had started a month-long Krushak Adhikar Diwas across the State for farmers’ rights, concluded its stir at the Collectorate parade ground here on Monday.
Hundreds of farmers and those dependent on agriculture, social activists including peasant sympathisers from different blocks of the district congregated at the SK Academy ground, from where they took out a rally and shouted slogans against the State Government’s negligent attitude towards the farming community.

NNKS leaders Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, Rabi Das, Askhya Kumar, Seshadev Nanda and Rashmi Ranjan Swain addressed the meeting and reiterated the organisation’s consistent demands for giving farmers’ price, prestige and pension and to stop the anti-farmers policy affecting the agriculture dependents livelihood for years.
