The Yogoda Satsanga Society of India (YSS), one of India’s oldest spiritual and charitable organisations founded by Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda in 1917, recently held a public discourse for the residents of Bhubaneswar as a part their centenary celebrations.
The event commenced with a prayer and bhajan session followed by Swami Ishwarananda Giri speaking on “Kriya Yoga.” He highlighted the benefits of the ancient scientific path of controlling the mind by nurturing peace and calmness.
Giri, who is member, Board of Directors, Yogoda Satsanga Society of India, stated, “Kriya Yoga is the essence of all spiritual practices and it is the common highway of all religions and is mentioned in the Bhagvad Gita. Within a very short time, by the practice of the scientific technique of Kriya Yoga, one can get the simultaneous development of body, mind, intellect and soul. By magnetizing the spine by a very simple way of Kriya practice, one can perceive the all-accomplishing divine energy in the body, which in turn hastens physical, mental, intellectual transformation and ultimately gives constant god-consciousness.” He added that Kriya Yoga cures and prevents many unknown and fatal diseases and assimilating power which confers a healthy mind and body.
