In connection with the alleged kidnapping of a Meerut-based businessman Manoj Gupta from Premnagar, Dehradun police arrested the supposed master mind Vinay Tyagi on Sunday night.
Regarding the same case, police had arrested four criminals-Keshav Sharma, native of Moradabad, Bhudev alias Bhura, native of Amroha, Pintu, native of Ghaziabad and Manoj Jatav alias Mannu, native of Muzaffarnagar- allegedly involved in the case from Muzaffarnagar in March 23, 2016.
It should be mentioned here that Gupta and his friend Mamta had gone missing from his farm house in Premnagar area in Dehradun on February 18 night. In course of investigation, it was revealed that mastermind of the kidnapping was Vinay Tyagi, husband of a block Pramukh (Purkaji- Muzaffarnagar), Western Uttar Pradesh who had remained fugitive. Dehradun police got Manoj released from the clutches of his abductors from Hapur of Western Uttar Pradesh February 21 2016 without the abducted paying any money. Dehradun police had later arrested Mamta Maseeh from Delhi on February 22 for her alleged involvement in the case. Two more accused of the case -Ambuj Tyagi and Vikas Kumar- natives of Muzaffarnagar- were also arrested and sent to jail in the past.
