The Jeypore Kala Kendra (JKK), one of the oldest institutes of classical music and dance, celebrated its 27th annual function at Jeypore. The programme was organised by Guru Kanhu Charan Pradhan while JKK president Paresh Rath presided.
PD DRDA Koraput Maheswar Nayak graced the occasion as the chief guest and praised the efforts of the JKK for organizing various programmes over many years and promoting the ancient tradition and culture of the State. Cultural officer Akhay Kumar Sethy and Suresh Dash also were on the dais.
Dhiren Pattanaik, Bidyut Prabha Pattanaik, MN Prasad and Prasant Sahu were felicitated for their efforts in the field of music and dance. The JKK students performed Dasaavatar, Nabagata, Ganesh Bandana, Bhakratunda, Padavande, Nabadurga, Dhiyantu Subarna Barnavya, ring dance and folk dance ‘Sailodi’. A huge crowd turned up to witness the show.
