Underscoring the importance of cultural and spiritual progress for the revival of joint family system in the state, Haryana Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki on Wednesday said that the values associated with joint family system can help us in achieving the desired results. The Social Welfare Board can play a significant role in this direction through its schemes and programmes, said the Governor while speaking at the one-day workshop organized on the topic of Sanyukt Parivar-Badhta Aaadhar, Ekal Parivar-Ghathta Sansaar’ by the State Social Welfare Board to mark its golden jubilee celebrations, here.
Solanki expressed happiness over the fact that the board is working hard to deliver the desired results. He said that the Board should also monitor all works carried out by different organizations for the development of society.
Describing materialistic progress as the key reason for the increase in the concept of nuclear families in the present-day era, the Governor said the board could play a significant role in meeting such challenges by inculcating cultural values through different schemes. It should also enhance its scope of work for uplift of the downtrodden and neglected people, he added.
Speaking on this occasion, the Women and Child Development Minister, Kavita Jain, lauded the board’s functioning and said it had been working for the welfare
of children and women for the last 50 years.
