Miscreants decamped with valuables worth Rs 5 lakh from Dairy Colony under Habibganj police station area after commiting burglary on September 26.
Police said that the victim Bhanupratap Jain had gone for treatment along with his wife and when he returned, valuables were found to have burgled.
SHO Dinesh Singh Chouhan of Govindpura said that the victim had gone for treatment along with his relative to AIIMS in Delhi on September 25 and the burglary occurred on September 26 which was reported by his neighbours to the victim.
On his return on Thursday, he lodged a complaint in this regard.
Chouhan said the security guard of the colony would be questioned.
In the complaint, the victim stated that he had accompanied his wife to Delhi for treatment where he was informed that his house was targeted by miscreants and valuables were stolen.
The police have registered a case under Section 457 and 380 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
In the complaint, victim claimed loss of four gold bangles, four gold chains, two gold necklaces, nine gold finger rings and three pairs of gold ear rings worth Rs 2 lakh.
In an another incident, gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 50,000 were burgled from Data Colony under Koh-e-Fiza police station area; a complaint was lodged on Thursday.
The victim Mahendra had gone to meet his relative in lucknow on September 6 and when he returned on Thursday the valuables were found burgled. A pair of sivler anklets, three gold finger rings, one silver coin worth Rs 50,000 were burgled.
The police have registered a case under Section 457 and 380 of the IPC and have started further investigation. Small crimes like snatching, loot and burglary have been common phenomenon in this area. and nobody can deny it.
