A 59-year-old teacher of Badsahi in Mayurbhanj district was arrested on Thursday for his alleged sexual harassment to three minor girls.
A case has been registered against the accused Durga Charan Giri, who is presently the Headmaster of the Markundi Primary School near Badsahi, under Sections 354 (A) of IPC and 10 of the Prevention of Child from Sexual Offence Act, 2012.
According to a written complaint of the guardians of the girls, a few days before the school examination commenced, the headmaster through his mobile phone set displayed and showed obscene photographs to the girls and then indulged in other forms of sexual harassment.
When the reported incidents of molestation and the like came to the notice of the guardians and villagers, they were irritated and they informed the Badsahi police about it. The police, after arresting and forwarding the teacher to court, are now carrying out further investigation into the matter.
