Haryana targets jobs to 2l youth ahead of 2019 polls

Ahead of 2019 polls, the Manohar lal Khattar Government in Haryana has set a target to provide employment opportunities to more than two lakh youth in the State in next two years.

The BJP led State Government will complete its three years tenure in office on October 26.

The State Government has also decided to achieve grade level competency for atleast 80 per cent students by the end of December 2018. At present, the competency level is 60 per cent.

The issues of employment opportunities and grade level competency were discussed at a review meeting of ‘Saksham Haryana’, held under Chief Minister Manohar lal here.

The Chief Minister has set up a ‘Saksham Cell’ in his office. 

During the meeting, it has been decided that the private companies who would engage more than five per cent apprentice would be recognized or facilitated by the government. These private companies would be called as ‘Saksham Saathi’ of the government, said an official spokesman.

It was apprised that the State Government, under Saksham Rozgar Portal, would facilitate all youth in getting employment opportunities in Government and private sector as well as for apprenticeship programmes. Besides, assistance would also be provided for self-employment. As many as 11 initiatives have been defined for all sectors, so that more than two lakh youth could get employment in coming two years, he said.

The spokesman said that the State Government would also assist the youth in placement, carrier counseling, training and job-mapping through technological support. The entire information would be available on ‘Saksham Rozgar Portal’, which will be launched very soon.

It was informed that under Saksham Haryana, the existing system of school education would be streamlined and strengthened. All facilities of the departments concerned would be made online. The best practices of other states have been adopted.

Haryana Government would also do something new in the state so that other states can learn. New technology would be brought on pilot basis in School Education Department, said the spokesman.

The assessment for achievement of 80 per cent grade level competency would be got carried out by third party. The blocks and district, who would achieve the target, would be declared Saksham, he added.

It was also informed that all Minister, MlAs and senior officers would soon visit educational institutes to discuss all aspect of ‘Saksham  Haryana’. Under ‘Saksham Haryana’, each youth enrolled youth gets Rs 9,000 per month, including Rs 3,000 as unemployment allowance and the

remaining amount is paid as honorarium in lieu of 100 hours of work.

Photos of teachers to be displayed Haryana Chief Minister Manohar lal on Friday directed the School Education Department to display the photos of teachers of all government schools in the state along with their names and designation in the office of school heads in order to improve the relation among the teachers, parents and students.

Additional Chief Secretary, School Education Department, KK Khandelwal said that this decision is  a step forward in the direction of expressing respect and giving recognition to the teachers, and developing better relations between teachers and the students as well as to enhance the sense of belongingness.

He said that all the district education officers, district elementary education officers, block education officers and block elementary education officers have been directed to ensure the compliance of these orders in all the government schools under their jurisdiction.
