Haryana, J&K to exchange police contingent for R-Day

To improve coordination between police forces of neighbouring States, the Haryana Government has decided to exchange one police contingent with a contingent of the Jammu & Kashmir Police for participating in the Republic Day Parade 2018.

An official spokesman said the Chief Minister Manohar lal had approved a proposal to this effect under which Haryana will send one police contingent to Jammu & Kashmir, which in turn would send one police contingent to Haryana for the R-Day Parade, 2018.

During the last conference of the Director and Inspector Generals of Police held in 2015, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had talked about improving coordination between the police forces of neighbouring States, and suggested participation of police contingents of each State in the R-Day Parade units of the neighbouring States as one such measures to enhance coordination.
