Haryana Vidhan Sabha on Monday paid rich tributes to the prominent personalities who lost their lives during the inter-session period.
The members of the House observed a two-minute silence to pay homage to the departed souls. The Chief Minister Manohar lal, who is also leader of the House, paid tributes to former Governor of Tamil Nadu, Surjit Singh Barnala, and former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, J Jayalalitha.
Manohar lal also paid tributes to the freedom fighters and martyrs of the State, who had sacrificed their lives while safeguarding the unity and integrity of the country.
later, Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kanwar Pal also read out obituary resolutions and paid tribute to the departed souls. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ram Bilas Sharma, leader of Opposition Abhay Singh Chautala and leader of Congress legislature Party Kiran Chaudhary also read obituary resolutions on the behalf of their parties.
The freedom fighters who were paid homage in the House included Raghbir Singh of village Chhara, district Jhajjar, Ved Parkash Marwah, of Ambala Cantt., district Ambala, Dariyao Singh of village Khumba, district Hisar and Bhagmal of village Tikli in district Gurugram.
The House also paid homage to martyrs of the state who had shown indomitable courage and sacrificed their lives while safeguarding and protecting the unity and integrity of the country.
They included Major Satish Dahiya of village Banihari in Mahendragarh, Major Sanjeev lather, village Budha Khera lather in Jind, lt. Sandeep Kumar of village Silani Keso in Jhajjar, Inspector Virender Singh of village Dalenwas in Mahendragarh, Havildar Rishipal, village Bhora Kalan of Gurugram, Havildar Hariram, village Bhag Khera in Jind, Havildar Virender Singh of village Biran in district Bhiwani.
Tributes were also paid to martyrs namely Havildar Rai Singh of village Kheri Sampla in Rohtak, Havildar Ram Kishan Yadav of village lukhi in district Rewari, Havildar Kamal Singh, village Patikara in district Mahendragarh, Sergeant Naresh Kumar, village Alipura in Jind, Sepoy Bhagwan Singh of village Bas Khudana in Mahendragarh, Sepoy Aftab of village Badhauli in Ambala, Sepoy Ankur Sharma, village Ukhalchana (Kot) in Jhajjar and Sepoy Ajay Kumar, village Bas Satnali, district Mahendragarh.
The House also paid tributes to those brave soldiers and civilians who lost their lives in avalanches in different areas of Jammu and Kashmir on January 25, 2017.
