Govt to release 78 prisoners

A decision to release 78 out of 87 prisoners, who have already completed 15 years in various jails of the State and are undergoing life imprisonment, was taken during a meeting of the Jharkhand State Sentence Remission Board held at the Project Building in Ranchi on Tuesday. The decision was taken unanimously on the basis of their deteriorating health conditions and having no crime history in the past. The meeting was attended by Principal Home Secretary SKG Rahate, DGP DK Pandey, Principal Secretary of CM Sanjay Kumar, Jail IG Suman Gupta and presiding officer nominated by the Jharkhand High Court, Ganesh Dutt.
