The State Government on Wednesday shied away from discussion on the issue of 'crimes against women' in the State assembly. The Congress members raised slogans and remained most of the time in the well, but to no avail.
The Congress members had been demanding discussion over the issue of gang-rape case of Bhopal, since Tuesday, but the government did not agree. Factually, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday was on jubilant mood and remained busy in celebrating Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's 12 years in office. The celebration was on at the residence of Chouhan right from the morning and the chief minister did not reach the Assembly.
Chouhan always claimed that he is 'Mama' (maternal uncle) of the girls, but he failed to safeguard the girls and his government declined discussion over the issue.
leader of Opposition in the state assembly Ajay Singh has asked Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan as why he was shying away from discussion on increasing crimes against women and CM Chouhan who claims to be maternal uncle of all girls.
Ajay Singh claimed that the day would be remembered as black day in the history of state assembly.
From the starting day of the session Congress MlAs demanded discussion over gang rape in the state capital, continued crime against women, farmers, bhavantar scheme, worsening health care faculties, role of CM in MPPEB scam, malnutrition, NEET and PSC recruitment scam and for this call attention motion, adjournment motion and other procedure of notifications for discussion were proposed but government has been witnessed to follow escapism from every discussion.
He claimed that the Speaker is under immense pressure from the government due to which he is not discussing anything including adjournment motion on crime against women and which is very undemocratic way of government and state assembly and is infringement of rights of opposition in the state Assembly.
