Governor Paul appoints Anglo-Indian as MlA

State Governor Krishna Kant Paul on Saturday appointed George Iwan Gregory Main as an MlA for the State Assembly on Anglo-Indian quota.

As per the Article 333, the Governor has the right to appoint an Anglo-Indian community as member of the Vidhan Sabha if he finds that there is less representation of the community. Following the Article, the Governor has nominated Main as member of the Vidhan Sabha. With this nomination State BJP’s strength has risen to 59 including one Independent MlA Madan Singh Kaida, who had shown his solidarity with BJP and nominated MlA out of 71-member Uttarakhand Assembly. Main, son of late IGG Main, is resident a of 26-Curzon road, Dalanwala, Dehradun.
