Ganga cleanliness drive from May 2 by Gayatri Parivar

Pollution has now been a global concern and worldwide environmentalists have expressed their concern on the same. Various schemes have been launched by the Government of India. likewise, Haridwar based well known socio-spiritual organisation All World Gayatri Pariwar is also running a perpetual movement Nirmal Ganga Jan Abhiyan since 2013. In this connection, a big Ganga cleaning movement from Gangotri to Ganga sagar in 2525 km stretch of ganga will be held on about 450 ghats across the country in the coming May month.

Starting from Uttarakhand, through UP, Bihar, Jharkhand and the State of Bengal, the drive shall be carried out from 8 am to 12 noon. In Haridwar, this programme will run from Vyas Ashram, Haripur kalan to Jwalapur on about 71 ghats led by the head of Gayatri Pariwar Dr. Pranav Pandya. As many as 150 organisations , dignitaries of Haridwar with volunteers   of Gayatri   from all over world,  staff and students of Dev sanskriti Vishva vidyalaya and Uttarakhand sanskrit Vishwa  Vidyalaya will be participating in the cleanliness campaign.

Speaking to the Pioneer, head of Gayatri Pariwar Dr. Pranav Pandya said, “River Ganga is lokmata , mother of all hence we the sons of the soil must realise our responsibility to maintain its purity. The cleanliness movement is being carried out in five phases with the assistance of common people. Our volunteers are work on both banks by full zeal on regular basis. He further said that similar campaign is also launched on 12 rivers of the country including river Bagmati of Nepal.
