The Govindpura police busted a gang of five miscreants including three minors and recovered a scooter and 12 mobiles from their possession on Tuesday.
Acting on a tip-off, two miscreants were nabbed near Habibganj market, on the charge of their involvement in robbery and stealing of mobile phones from Govindpura area.
The nabbed accused persons were questioned regarding the scooter and the two confessed that the scooter was used in stealing and robbery of mobile phones. The two were identified as Sarvesh Dubey(26) and Anil Giri (24) of Awadhpuri.
Accused have stolen and robbed mobile phones from Shakti Nagar, Saket Nagar, Gulab Garden and near St Xaviers School. Sarvesh has been booked for four robbery cases while Anil has been booked for three burglaries and arms acts.
later in the investigation the two provided details of other three gang members who were found to be minors. The two accused used to head the gang and would instruct the minors and help them in the crime.
Police have started investigation to find the disposing of the robbed and stolen valuables.
During the investigation police found that the miscreants used to work as gang and it is possible that more members are in the gang who would be searched. The scooter bearing registration number MP 04-SX-4442 has been recovered from the accused and it would be investigated that the scooter is stolen or has been purchased by the accused. The crime record of the nabbed accused would be searched in the further investigation.
